Are you a teenager and want to see a psychologist?
Are you wondering if your parents will find out what we are saying?
Don't worry at all! All you need is the signature of both your parents to start the process. If you are a final year student and have turned 18, then your parents' consent is not needed. What we discuss together is strictly confidential. The psychologist is not entitled to talk to anyone about what you tell him, unless you or someone else in your environment is in danger.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are your services offered through GeSY?
No, school/educational psychologists (commonly known as "child psychologists") have not yet joined Gesy system.
I have private insurance, does it cover my sessions with a psychologist?
It depends on the package you have chosen and your referral request. Ask your private insurance for more information.
Are online sessions offered?
Yes, of course. It's just that online sessions are mostly for teenagers and adults. For online sessions, trusted applications such as Skype, Zoom, Teams and Google meet are used.
How many sessions does my child need?
Although this question is often asked, the answer is extremely difficult to give. The reason is that each child is unique, with different difficulties and challenges and the treatment plan is individualized. Therefore, a specific time frame cannot be defined from the beginning.
How long is a session?
Duration is 50 minutes.
Do you also offer sessions in Greece?
Yes, online only. You can contact +30 6978124125 for more information.
We are divorced parents and one of us does not agree that the minor should visit the psychologist. What's going on?
In order for a psychologist to see a child, the signed consent of both parents/legal guardians is required, unless the court has decided otherwise by order.
Does the psychologist work with other professionals?
Yes, of course. He/she can cooperate with all the specialties that follow your child (eg speech therapist/occupational therapist etc.), with his best interest in mind. This communication takes place only with the written consent of the parents.
My child has been assessed with psychometric tools (eg WISC-V) but I want to be re-assessed, is that possible?
There are some psychometric tools, such as intelligence tests, which are recommended to be re-administered after two years to be considered reliable.
