About
My studies started in 2013. I graduated from the Department of Psychology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Through the Erasmus program, I successfully studied for an academic semester at the Julius-Maximilians University of Würzburg, where I acquired proficiency of the German Language. I completed my internship at the undergraduate level at the Psychiatric Hospital of Thessaloniki.
Then I worked at the research center Max Planck Institute for human cognitive and brain sciences in Germany, as a research scientist, focusing on the social-cognitive development of infants. I continued and completed my three-year master’s degree in “Applied School Psychology” at the University of Cyprus. In the meantime, I worked at the Center for Applied Neuroscience (KEN) as a Research Scientist in the “ReaDI-STANCE” project, where we designed online therapeutic interventions for 1st graders with reading difficulties.
At the same time, I completed my my 1500 hours of supervised clinical practice at the Educational Psychology Service of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth. During the internship, I visited schools of all grades in the Nicosia province providing individualized and group-level interventions, parent-teacher counseling, and experiential workshops.
Finally, I received certification of the one-year professional further training “Psychological support of the child, the family and the community in loss and bereavement“, sponsored by Merimna (Society for the Care of Children and Families in Illness and Death). At the same time, I completed the specialization in the evaluation and intervention of children and adolescents who fall under Autism Spectrum Disorder from DI.KE.PSY (Interdisciplinary & Research Psychosocial Support for Children and Adults) and I completed the second 450-hour specialization training program of the University of Patras on the subject: “Autism: Understanding, Education & Intervention“.
At this stage, I maintain my private office in the province of Nicosia and provide live and online psychodiagnostic assessment services, parent counseling and individual interventions for children and teenagers and supervision. My strong interest in Autism led to being selected as the national representative of the Cyprus Psychologists’ Association for Autism issues. Finally, in addition to the clinical part, I am also involved in teaching, providing lectures and presentations on autism issues and psychometric tool trainings in collaboration with private centers in Greece.
Finally, as a professional psychologist I follow the code of ethics, the safeguarding of personal data and the protection of the rights of the child. I work with the best interest of the child in mind, approaching difficulties systemically, and taking into account the needs of the whole family system.
